My Name: Lisa Botte My Title: Cataloger and Reference Librarian What is my job at the library? I classify most of the items that are added to our collection, work regular shifts on the reference desk, and select titles for the languages and sciences sections. I have also been known to fill in at the Main Desk and in the Children's Room. I'm pretty much a "Jane-of-all-trades". How long have I worked at the library? Started in June 1989, a week out of high school! I worked as a temporary employee through my college years, then began as a permanent employee in July 1993. What is my favorite part of the job? There's always so much going on here, I never have the same day twice. What do I like to read? Magazines, short stories, novels, nonfiction, basically anything that catches my interest. What is myr favorite book? "The Red Tent" by Anita Diamant What is my favorite movie? Depends on my mood ... but I'm a big fan of Kevin Smith flicks (Clerks, Mall Rats, Chasing Amy ...) I also crack up every time I watch "Shrek" and "Finding Nemo"! Other than reading, what do I like to do when you're not working? I manage to keep pretty busy with two little ones at home! I do like to play board games, shoot pool (badly), and play the piano. I am also an avid scrapbooker and paper crafter, as anyone who knows me will attest. I have a studio in my home devoted to it, and I even teach classes at a scrapbook store in the area. What is the most interesting fact about me? I am left-handed to a fault! Things like rulers, can openers and measuring cups frustrate me to no end ... it's definitely a righty's world out there. In fact, I believe I am the only lefty on the library staff. Come to think of it, that's really not very interesting, is it? Okay, maybe my tattoo is slightly more interesting ...
