Winter Remote Storytimes

Good News for 2021: Storytime will resume the week of January 25!  We are launching a new storytime format- complete with a craft!  Each week, starting Monday, January 25, a pre-packaged “Take-N-Make” project, along with a pre-recorded, themed storytime with one of the Children’s Room librarians, will be available for pickup outside the library’s sliding doors.   For the week of January 25, pickup will be from 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (Monday – Saturday).  For all weeks starting February 1, pickup will be from 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. (Monday-Thursday) and 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. (Friday-Saturday)

Little Sprouts Science Club: States of Matter (Solids, Liquids and Gas)

Monday, February 8 at 10:00 a.m. 

For ages 3 1/2 – 5 years old.

  • A fun-filled preschool-aged science program via ZOOM
  • Learn about the three states of matter: solid, liquid and gas
  • Program includes stories and a hands-on activity.  Call the children’s room to schedule a curbside pick-up starting February 1.

"The Dream Big!" Magic Show with Mike Bent

Tuesday, February 16 at 10:00 a.m. 

For all ages.

Join magician Mike Bent for this live, virtual program as he uses storytelling, magic, music and puppets to illustrate and create interest in books that kids love. The show features the following books: The Cat in the Hat, Goodnight Moon, Dragons Love Tacos, The True Story of the Three Little Pigs, The Empty Pot and many more.

Mars Rover Landing

Thursday, February 18 at starting at 3:00 p.m. 

For all ages. (most appropriate for school-aged children, teens and adults)

Join us for a live coverage watch party of the NASA Perseverance Lander touching down on Mars! The lander will touch down on Mars on Feb 18th at approximately 3:30 pm (subject to change). NASA Solar System Ambassador, Shelley Rosenbaum Lipman will give us play by play action in what is called the “seven minutes of terror” in this historic event.  Don’t miss this family event.
