Why Storytime? A good storytime provides the opportunity to bring together young children and books in a joyous, meaningful situation. The Children’s Staff looks forward to introducing you and your child to the world of children’s literature. In addition to helping foster the love of reading and books, our storytimes will also focus on helping your child get ready to read. Research shows that children develop pre-reading skills years before they begin school.
Good News for 2021: Storytime will resume the week of January 25! We are launching a new storytime format- complete with a craft! Each week, starting Monday, January 25, a pre-packaged “Take-N-Make” project, along with a pre-recorded, themed storytime with one of the Children’s Room librarians, will be available for pickup outside the library’s sliding doors. Starting the week of February 1, pickup times will be 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. (Monday-Thursday) and 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. (Friday-Saturday).
*Storytime ends the week of April 12. Please be on the lookout for more storytimes this summer!
