Curbside Pickup

Guidelines

  • This service is being offered to any MVLC patron with an account in good standing. Patrons with questions about eligibility should call 978-671-0948 ext. 3.
  • Pickups will be scheduled on a first come, first served basis Mondays-Thursdays 9am-7pm, Fridays 9am-3pm, and Saturdays 9am-12pm.
  • Patrons may not request specialty items and museum passes.
  • Items may be requested by calling or placing holds in the catalog.
  • Returns will not be accepted during the curbside pickup transaction. If you have returns, please place returns in the outside book drop before the pickup transaction.

Procedure for Calling to Place Your Hold

  1. Call the Billerica Public Library at 978-671-0948 ext. 3 and let them know you would like to place some items on hold.
  2. Staff will ask you for specific titles or you can request a set of items based on a subject.
  3. Staff will then verify that your requested items are available and pull them aside for you.
  4. When the items are ready, you will receive a call or email from the library.
  5. Once you receive notification, schedule an appointment online or contact the library to schedule a pickup time.
  6. During your pickup window, go to the designated spaces on the Blanchard Ave side of the library (the side facing the Council on Aging) and call the library to let them know you arrived.
  7. A staff member, with a mask and gloves, will bring the items out and place them in your trunk. Please have your trunk open.

Procedure for Placing a Catalog Hold

  1. Place a hold on the item or items you would like to request in our online catalog. Please note: for the time being, we are only able to fill holds for items owned by Billerica Public Library.
  2. When the items are ready, you will receive a call or email from the library.
  3. Once you receive notification, schedule an appointment online or contact the library to schedule a pickup time.
