Petting Zoo with Animal Craze

Saturday, September 24 starting at 10:00 a.m.

For ages 3 and up.

Come meet and cuddle with some baby goats, bunnies, ducks and a piglet.  Space is limited to 20 children per session.   Children will go into the animal area alone with parents remaining outside the pens.

Please register for one time slot on our online calendar.  Please be mindful of your time slot as we are keeping a tight schedule.  Choose from the following sessions:  10:00 a.m., 10:20 a.m. and 10:40 a.m.

Required, online registration starts Monday, September 12 at 9:00 a.m.

This event will be held outdoors on the COA lawn next to the library. In the event of rain, the program will be held indoors.

STEM Kids Playgroup

Thursday, September 29 at 9:30 a.m. 

Join Chris Cole of CFCE every Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at The Billerica Public Library for this drop-in, STEM playgroup.

Every week we will explore a new STEM topic for Early Learners! Our activities are focused on kids fromages 3-5, but everyone from age 0-8 is welcome to attend with their Caregiver. STEM Skills are all heavily based in Literacy skills and our activities touch upon a broad range of developmental domains including; fine motor development, gross motor development, literacy development, language development, social emotional skills and much more.

Treehouse Treasure Club: Pirates!

Saturday, October 1 at 10:00 a.m.

 For grades K-4

Calling all Magic Tree House fans (and pirate lovers)! For this month’s program we will be reading, Pirates Past Noon .  Online, required registration starts Monday, September 12 and participants can pick up the book starting that day as well.  Read the book and on October 1, we will discuss it and enjoy some fun activities in the library.  Participants will keep the book as well!

Reading with Rudy, the Therapy Dog (ages 7-10)

Saturday, October 1 starting at 2:00 p.m.

For ages 7-10

Come to the Billerica Public Library to read to Rudy, a certified reading therapy dog!

Children will enjoy one-on-one time reading aloud to this gentle, comforting, 3-year old black lab as they practice their fluency and strengthen their confidence in reading. Children may bring their own book from home or use one from the library.

Online, required registration starts Monday, September 12 at 9:00 a.m. Space is limited. Please choose one 15 minute block to read to Rudy. 2:00 p.m., 2:15 p.m., 2:45 p.m., 3:00 p.m.

"Spooky Stories" with Big Joe

Get in the Halloween spirit and join “Big Joe” for some spooky, but not so scary recorded stories for Halloween that feature some ghosts, pumpkins, bats and a haunted

house!

Discovery Kids: Autumn Crawly Critters

 For ages 4-9

Join us for “Discovery Kids”, our series of afterschool, interactive enrichment programs which expose kids to the wonders of our scientific and natural world.

Join Mass Audubon staff to meet some creepy critters that squirm, slither and crawl! Lean why worms, roaches, and snakes move the way they do and how they are adapted to survive in their habitats. Maybe they won’t be so creepy after you get to know them.

Sweet Pea Baby Meet-n-Greet

Calling all little “sweet peas” and their caregivers!  Our program room will be open with age-appropriate toys and music so you can meet other babies and adults!  Feel free to drop in and play (no registration required)!  Families will receive a complimentary, brand-new board book to take home and read with your child!

Rise and Shine Dramatic Yoga Adventure

Rise and Shine…It’s Dramatic Yoga Time! Dramatic Yoga is a 30-minute adventure where we bring story-telling to life!

Children (along with caregivers)will stretch their minds and bodies through the art of creative movement and yoga sequences.

The Spooky Halloween Show! Virtual -interactive Music and Comedy with Mr. Matt!

Friday, October 21 at 10:00 a.m.

For all ages!

Mr. Matt is back to celebrate the “Spooky Halloween” Music and Comedy Show!

Join us for Halloween fun by singing the “Itsy Bitsy Spider,” enjoying bubbles, bats, ghouls and goblins–and of course a virtual monster mash dance party! The show engages children with songs, comedy, and music technology. Join us for this fun 30-minute performance which will be accompanied by visual and sensory experiences. Kids will dance, sing, cackle, hoot and do the mummy throughout the whole show!
